Scotland's CIO Anne Moises named ‘ICT Public Sector Leader 2011’ at The UK Public Sector Digital Awards
Anne Moises, Chief Information Officer for the Scottish Government, was named ‘ICT Public Sector Leader of 2011’ tonight at the prestigious UK Public Sector Digital Awards that celebrate excellence in ICT enabled service delivery across all sectors of government.
Moises was selected as ‘ICT Public Sector Leader of 2011’ for her work in creating a formal career development structure for the Scottish Government’s ICT staff as well as her leadership role in the development and maintenance of the infrastructure that supports the Scottish Government.
“I am absolutely delighted – or to use Scottish vernacular, dead chuffed!” said Winner of the ICT Leader Award, Scottish Government CIO Anne Moises. “I particularly appreciate the fact I was voted for by my peers.”
Addressing the audience at the awards ceremony at London’s Guildhall, the Right Honourable Nick Clegg MP, Deputy Prime Minister said: “The UK Public Sector Digital Awards showcase the talent and innovation that – quite frankly – don’t always get the attention they deserve: talent and innovation that revolutionise the way we deliver services, giving the UK’s public sector a world class online presence and helping millions of people.”
Winners from across the public sector were named in ten other categories. Keith Bannister, Head of Public Sector Technology at KPMG, said: “The quality of the winning nominations, in addition to an over 50% rise is total number of submissions, shows the sheer scale of innovation and talent across our public services. This year’s nominations demonstrate an increased use of social media and lower cost collaborative projects to deliver services to the public that increases the levels of public engagement, and helps millions of people across Britain. ”
