News: The Business Factory

In 2010 Sift Media is embarking on a bold development of The Pitch 2009, a national small business pitching competition which saw over 164 entrepreneurs from across the UK vying in five regional heats for a chance to present their business idea and pitching skills  to a panel of high-profile business experts including ex-TV dragon Doug Richard and The Apprentice winner Tim Campbell and potentially win a £50,000 prize package.

This year The Pitch is part of a bigger initiative aimed at positioning Sift Media and its partners as key facilitators of small business learning and development in the UK. The Business Factory is a multi-stream event taking place in November that will cover pitching, mentoring, small business technology and social media, PR and marketing. We will be running activity throughout the year in the run up to The Business Factory, with a vast number of opportunities for thought leaders to interact and engage directly with our web communities and event delegates.

A dedicated Business Factory website is in the final stages of production, and an exciting social media, PR and marketing initiative, The Business Factory Boot Camp, which will involve several entrepreneurs being mentored through a number of ‘missions’, is to launch in the near future.
